Located in the town of Jaguariúna in São Paulo State, the Haras Capim Fino stud farm covers an area of 363 acres and boasts an impressive infrastructure comprising 150 stall barns, a Treatment Centre, a Breeding Centre, indoor arenas and all the facilities integrated to cater to the needs of its breeding program. The Haras Capim Fino stud farm is home to five splendid syndicated sires, namely *ALMADEN, *LYPHARD, *ALADDINN ECHO, AF DON GIOVANI and DON EL CHALL, in addition to three great sires of its own: *CAJUN PRINCE HCF (leased out in 1997 to the Haras Mayed stud farm of Argentina), *LD HALSTON and GRIS EL JAMAAL, the latest newcomer to the stud’s breeding stock. The Haras Capim Fino stud (HCF) also includes the busy Jaguar Training Centre, responsible for the preparation not only of the HCF individuals but also those of outside clients, being acknowledged as Brazil’s most prizewinning Training Centre. Every year this stud farm holds a big sale, the CF Invitational, which in 1998 repeated the success of 1997, becoming renowned as one of the best auctions of the year as well as holding the Brazilian record for exports through sales at auction (22 in 1997 and 21 in 1998). Apart from breeding Purebred Arabians, since 1997 the HCF has been producing ostriches, also through syndicates, as is the case on some American stud farms, and have already organised a sale of great repercussion, the National Ostrich Sale, now part of its official calendar of events. This stud farm is also wellknown for having bred a string of champions at national and international levels alike.
